Botanic Garden Master Plan draft available for download
The Future of the Garden Committee has worked diligently to prepare a Master Plan for the Botanic Garden. The committee members understand how important it is to have a beautiful garden in the central city for everyone to enjoy. These supporters recognize the importance of protecting and enhancing this wonderful green space and landmark. The Botanic Garden Master Plan embraces the key ideas and themes that were expressed throughout the planning process and received unanimous approval of the Committee.
At the Feb. 24, 2010, work session presentation before the Parks and Community Services Board, the following suggestions were made by Board members.
- Add comments that reference the recently completed Fort Worth Bicycle Master Plan and that encourages visitors to access the Garden on bikes or as pedestrians.
- Delete the last sentence on page 62.
- Add the comment: “The Fort Worth Botanical Society Endowment Fund has been established to benefit the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Gifts are invested to provide income for general operating support to the areas of the Garden where the need is the greatest.”
Board members also asked if the plan or committee recommended an entry fee.
