The Fort Worth Library now offers two options for downloadable audiobooks: OverDrive and NetLibrary. Both platforms offer a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction titles as well as multiple simultaneous user titles, all accessible from any computer with your Fort Worth Library (resident) card.

About OverDrive

Overdrive offers the most popular authors from Random House, BBC Audiobooks America, Brilliance and Blackstone audio, such as Dan Brown, Stephanie Meyer and John Grisham plus popular series by James Patterson, Sue Grafton and J.D. Robb.  They also offer many bestselling nonfiction titles. Before downloading an audiobook, you’ll first need to install the OverDrive Media Console.  

About NetLibrary

NetLibrary offers the best of our most popular Recorded Books authors, such as John Sanford, Charlaine Harris, and Nevada Barr as well as the popular Griot Audio series of African American authors.

The first time you use NetLibrary, you will need to create an account. Click the “Create a Free Account” link at the upper right side of the page and enter the requested information.  For future visits after your account is established, you can go directly to www.netlibrary.com to access NetLibrary’s eAudiobooks or eBooks.

NetLibrary offers an optional Media Center software download.  Once installed, Media Center is fully integrated with the NetLibrary website and allows you to:

  • Browse and search your library's eAudiobook collection.
  • Click once to download and listen to eAudiobooks on your computer or portable listening device.
  • Listen to and manage your downloaded eAudiobooks without connecting to the Internet.
