Business Recycling
Learn how to implement or enhance your business' recycling and waste reduction program at a special workshop Sept. 16 at the Business Assistance Center.
The workshop, set from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is for all businesses, non-profits, schools and other organizations looking for tools and ideas for implementing sustainable business practices. Gas Drilling
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has established a webpage to serve as a clearinghouse for information on the agency’s monitoring operations in the Barnett Shale in North Texas. Visit the TCEQ website.
Go Green. Recycle Right.
Paper
Paper includes office and school papers, newspapers (without the plastic bag), junk mail, catalogs, magazines and telephone books
Card board
You may recycle card board boxes but they must fit inside your blue cart with the lid closed.
Paper Board
Paper board includes cereal boxes (be sure to remove the plastic lining), soft drink cartons and cracker boxes. Frozen food boxes, milk and juice cartons cannot be recycled due to the waxy coating.
Plastics
Plastics include soda bottles, detergent bottles, water & milk jugs and plastic containers with recycling numbers 1 – 7 on the bottom. Be sure all plastic containers are empty and rinsed well.
Glass
Glass includes all colors of glass jars and bottles. Be sure to rinse and remove all lids then toss them in the blue cart.
Cans
Cans include food and juice cans, dog and cat food cans and of course soda cans. Remember to rinse well!
